Definition and working of Internet

Internet:- Internet  is network of networks which consists of inter-connected networks.

                                       INTERNET stand for International Network of computer.

                                       Using internet we can review Newspaper , Magazines , Books , Listen to music ,                                                                             Watch movies , Playing games , and many more things .

How Does Internet Work? 

There are two approaches to understand the working of Internet.

APPROACH 1 :- 

Client-Server Mode/ Architecture :- In order to understand the functioning of the Internet , we must know the client-server architecture on which the Internet is based.

Client:- Clients are the workstation on which user run application.It carries out the user's /client's request to server and displays the result sent by the server.

Server:- Server are powerful computer , which provide data and information resource available on Internet to the client. they are called server because they server the client with the service which are available on Internet.

APPROACH 2:-

In this we will how the messages or word we send thought the Internet is receive correctly at the desired destination. The process done in this is are doe by further protocols.

• Transmission Control Protocol(TCP):- The information that we send through the Internet is broken into packets by TCP using technique of packet switching. Packet switching is a digital Networking communication method which break the large data in a suitably sized blocks.

Internet Protocol(IP):- The function of internet protocol is to send all the packet to the right address by assigning (allotting) them sequence number. The packets are sent to a local internet service provider (ISP).

USES OF INTERNET

1. EDUCATION:- Internet has changed the traditional learning system. It enable people to learn any thing at anytime and anywhere. Internet is widely used by the student , scholars as well as teachers for research and  education.

For Example :- Now as we now that our world is suffering from COVID -19 and lockdown is declared and school are closed everywhere. So, now almost every student and teacher are using Internet as the source for education.

2. BUSINESS:- Today almost every company has its own website to promote it's services, which have proved to be beneficial. These organization use Internet to provide complex financial database. Meeting can be scheduled and conducted through video conferencing facility.

3. E-COMMERCE:- Commerce means exchange of goods and services involving money. Nowadays many companies have their own websites/portal which are used for E-commerce. E-commerce is a concept used for any type of commercial or business deal that involves the transfer of information
